BIOGRAPHY


Don Guy  is a prolific dance and theatrical lighting designer. He has designed numerous shows from off/off-off Broadway to Tony Award winning Regional Theatres. Most recently he has designed Cinderella, Holberg Suites, Swan Lake Act II, Peasant Pas de Quatre - Giselle Act I, Concerto Grosso, and The Nutcracker for David Allan at California Riverside Ballet, the World Premiere of Open Heart at the Falcon Theatre, Bus Stop, Hay Fever, and Pericles for A Noise Within, La Posada Magica for the Tony award winning South Coast Repertory Theatre, Dangerous Obsession at the Long Beach Playhouse, The Sum of Us at the Long Beach Playhouse and Zephyr Theatre, and Uncle Vanya at the Century City Playhouse. Don has also designed the lighting for several renowned choreographers including: Donald McKayle, Colin Connor, John Pennington, Eugene Loring, and Nicholas Gunn. Professional affiliations include Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, International Association of Lighting Designers, and United States Institute of Theatre Technology. He holds both a Bachelors degree and a Master of Fine Arts in Lighting Design.

 

As an Architectural Lighting Designer, Don has prepared the design plans for: Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - Tampa, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - Hollywood, Universal Studios Japan, MTR Disney Station - Hong Kong, MTR Yam O Station - Hong Kong, COCA (Center of Creative Arts) in St. Louis, Challenger's Tennis Boys and Girls Club of Los Angeles, Universal Studios Orlando, South Coast Repertory Expansion, Carnival of Wonders at the Reno Hilton Hotel, The Balboa Theater, UCI Bio-Sci Lecture Hall, UCI Engineering Gateway, Rugrats Magic Adventure for Universal Studios Hollywood, Warner Bros. Movie World Madrid, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Production Studios at the World Trade Center, Trizec Hahn at the Grace Building, Benetton Corporate Headquarters, Hirshleifer's, Rockefeller Center, Lincoln Center, Me & Ro, Madison Square Garden, and various residences, churches, industrials, and retail projects.
